Wishes for Wheels by Motion Concepts

As our population grows, there is also a growing need for mobility equipment such as wheelchairs. And as the Baby Boomer generation moves into their senior years, they too are beginning to require more support in keeping their mobility and independence.
Unfortunately, neither Canadian society or the Canadian government has really prepared for this surge — especially financially. The wheelchair industry, although vital, is also very costly. While it's possible to find wheelchair options at a cheap and reasonable price, they are very basic and do not fit most people's needs.
At Island Mediquip our hearts go out to our customers and we do what we can to help those with financial difficulties (like our financing program), but there are not a lot of funding options available even to medical equipment retailers to help cover the costs of such equipment. On many occasions clients and their families are left scrambling, trying to scrape together the funds needed to buy what their loved ones need in order to stay mobile and independent.
But there is a manufacturer that has seen this need and wants to help!
Red Dot-winning Québec medical equipment manufacturer Motion Composites has launched a program called Wishes for Wheels, where they give away one free manual wheelchair every quarter this year! The program is open to residents of Canada and the US, and you do not need to meet any financial qualifications or submit any proof of income to participate — you can apply no matter what your financial means are. The only qualification is that you must already be a wheelchair user.
There have already been Canadian recipients in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Manitoba!
To apply, all you have to do is visit their website, fill out the application and wait to hear if your name has been chosen.
We applaud Motion Composites for launching this fantastic program, and wish all applicants the best of luck!
